Frequently asked questions
What kind of therapy services do you offer?
At Therapywell we offer a wide range of allied health services, including Individual Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Family Therapy and Group Therapies. Our services can be coupled together holistically to give you the best path towards improvement. Visit our website for full details on all our services: https://www.therapywell.com.au/services.
How long is each therapy session?
Each session is an hour long. Longer appointments for intake and family sessions are available upon request.
Are your therapists licensed and experienced?
All our Therapists are registered with the relevant regulatory bodies (APHRA, AASW), and have over 60 years combined experience in the mental health, trauma and neurodiversity space.
Do you offer online therapy sessions?
We do online therapy sessions at Therapywell! We understand the necessity of flexibility, and that you may not be able to or feel comfortable having your session in our office. Simply let us know when you get in touch, and we’d be happy to accommodate your needs.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Whether you pursue therapy is a personal choice. If you are experiencing challenges in the following areas: General anxiety, social anxiety, low mood or motivation, family and relationship stressors and mental health challenges associated with neurodiversity, therapy could provide you with valuable support and guidance.
What can I expect from my first session?
Your first therapy session is a great starting point for you and your therapist to get to know each other and go over what you hope to achieve from your visits. The goal of your first session of therapy is to really understand you, the important people in your life and what support you are needing to achieve your goals.
How do I organise an appointment?
It’s never been easier to book an appointment. Contact us via our website using the ‘get in touch’ button. Detail how you’re feeling in our ‘message’ section, and we will match you to the therapist we believe could help you the most. Alternatively, check out the ‘our team’ page, and have a read of each of our therapists' bios to decide which would be the best fit.
How many sessions should I book?
We typically book 10 sessions in, to ensure continuity of care and appropriate planning for treatment. The overall duration of your visits to us varies from person to person and depends on the nature of the concerns. Some clients may experience positive changes within just a few sessions, whereas others may require longer-term support.
