Support Mentors

Helping help our clients reach their NDIS goals both in and outside of therapy.

Our Support Mentor services are designed to enhance the client experience by integrating with our team of allied health clinicians, creating a cohesive approach to each client’s therapeutic journey.

What is Support Work for NDIS Participants?

Support work for NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) participants is a dynamic role that enhances the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Our Support Mentors work closely with clients to assist with:

  • Daily Living Activities: From personal care and grooming to meal preparation and home organization, our Support Mentors help clients build independence and manage daily routines.

  • Social-Emotional Support: By offering consistent emotional support, strategies for managing behaviors, and confidence-building activities, our mentors help clients maintain mental and emotional well-being.

  • Community Engagement: Whether participating in social events, seeking volunteer or employment opportunities, or navigating local services, our Support Mentors foster a sense of belonging and community involvement.

Travel Costs

Under the NDIS, provider travel time and kilometers are billable costs to ensure equitable access to services, especially for participants who require support in their homes, communities, or other locations. The NDIS allows providers to claim travel-related expenses, including time spent traveling to appointments and a per-kilometer rate (e.g., $0.99/km), to cover vehicle expenses. These costs reflect the commitment of providers to deliver high-quality, person-centered support wherever it is needed, ensuring participants can access essential services without barriers, regardless of their location.
