Kate Steinert
Support Mentor and Therapy Assistant
I am a Support Mentor and Therapy Assistant, and I’m passionate about improving the health and well-being of individuals through public and allied health initiatives. My Bachelor degree in Health Sciences specialised in clinical health, and I’m excited to be pursuing a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2024.
I have experience working with children and young adults with autism within an education-centered space and assisting families in after-school activities. My experience as an academic mentor saw me supporting neurodivergent young adults with completing their school work and creating weekly schedules.
My approach is client-centered with promoting well-being holistically at the forefront of interaction. My experience with health sciences places a large emphasis on the social determinants of health, I prioritize understanding an individual’s interests/needs and ensure all conversations are empathetic. I believe creating a supportive space is essential to promoting independence when engaging with new environments and activities.
My personal hobbies centre around running and walking in local parks and I love baking anything with chocolate! I enjoy arts and crafts, particularly painting and I am always excited to meet new people.
