Georgia Wells

Psychologist

I am passionate about supporting children and their families, youth, and young adults with mental health and well-being. I bring a compassionate, collaborative, and holistic approach to therapy. I endeavour to offer a space where individuals can express themselves, try new things, and explore skills that can empower them to navigate life’s ups and downs and trust their ability to cope.

I completed my Bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of Queensland, graduating with First Class Honours. My thesis focused on the Three Circles of Emotion Regulation and the use of compassion meditation to activate emotions associated with soothing, reduce emotions associated with threat, and balance nervous system regulation. I am passionate about the use of self-compassion interventions with clients across the lifespan. During my university placement, I worked alongside the Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health in Mt Isa, exploring gaps in youth mental health in rural areas of Australia.

I have experience working in the private practice sector in metropolitan, rural, and remote communities. For almost two years, I provided individual therapy and mental health services to children, adults, and families in rural and remote communities in Central Queensland that are not well-supported. I have delivered group therapy programs in social-emotional skill development for children, emotional well-being and relationship skill-building for adolescent females, anxiety awareness, and child developmental education and well-being support for parents of children with complex needs.
