Hello, I’m Linda,
I’m a Speech Pathologist with many years of experience working with young people and families of all ages, neurodevelopmental abilities and cultural backgrounds. My focus is on all aspects of communication so young people and their families can understand each other and successfully communicate their feelings, thoughts and experiences.
I’ve been a practicing Speech Pathologist for 40 years, working in a variety of settings. I’m deeply interested in understanding how neurodevelopment, mental health, behaviour, experience, and the environment interact to ensure individuals with language and communication needs are supported and understood by their families and communities. I celebrate cultural, gender, and neurodiversity, and I use strength-based, trauma-informed, and family-centred approaches to intervention. My focus is always on the individual’s goals and areas of interest, helping them maximize their ability to think, communicate feelings, socialize, and tell stories.
Interventions
I’m trained in several Hanen programs, including You Make The Difference, It Takes Two To Talk, More Than Words, and Talkability. I integrate frameworks like systemic and single-session thinking, solution-focused narrative interventions, and social thinking strategies. My work also includes emotional regulation skills and the Zones of Regulation approach. Additionally, I conduct assessments for speech, language, and communication disorders, as well as social communication assessments for neurodevelopmental and mental health disorders.
