Program features

  • Sensory integration

Activities throughout the program will have sensory activities integrated to support development of interoception, nervous system regulation and body awareness. Furthermore, the sensory needs of participants will be supported to assist them in participating during activities.

  • Equine Facilitated Therapy

Equine activities will include supporting children to work collaboratively and in relationship with each other and the horses, developing an understanding of how we all “co-regulate” each other, and navigate the balance of connection and boundaries in relationships.

  • Emotional regulation techniques

Participants will be learning emotional regulation strategies and skills through engaging and fun activities, with a focus on developing an awareness of their body’s emotional cues and nervous system needs for regulation.

  • Emotional expression through nature

Nature provides a resource for our nervous systems to regulate and reset, and through the inclusion of nature based activities, participants will be invited to tune in, connect and get creative to express themselves or just have some down time outdoors.

  • Group challenges

Participants will be engaged in table top role playing games, group adventures, collaborative and social thinking informed activities to support social awareness and relationship skills.
